What we collect, and why

Account registration. If you create an account, we collect your name and email address to set it up and let you log in.

Rental requests. Submitting a request gives us your name, email, phone number, the rental dates, and a description of what you're using the gear for. If you're a minor, we also collect a guardian's name and contact info, since a guardian has to co-sign the rental agreement.

Vouchers. Applying a voucher checks it against the email already on your account. Nothing new is collected.

Contact form. If you message us, we receive your name, email, subject, and message, so we can reply.

Surveys. If you take a survey on the site, we may collect your email along with your answers, depending on the survey.

Spam and security. Some forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a quick technical check that tells humans from bots. The site also logs IP addresses of requests to detect and block malicious activity.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. It's on by default, but you can turn it off any time from the cookie banner — declining keeps it off for future visits too. When it's on, this relies on cookies and identifiers set by Google; the data reaches us only in aggregate, and we can't identify you personally from it.

Cookies and local storage

Whatever you choose on the cookie banner is remembered in your browser so you're not asked again. Beyond that, this site stores one other thing locally: your light/dark mode preference. Neither ever leaves your device or identifies you.

How long we keep things

Rental request records are kept for as long as needed for account history and dispute resolution. Contact messages are kept until we no longer need them. Analytics data is retained under Google's standard retention settings.

Changes

If how this site handles data changes, this page changes with it.
